Blocker Outdoors’ new Shield Solstice Jacket and Pant provide the maximum in midseason warmth, comfort, fit, finish, and performance. |
MUSKEGON, MI (July 19, 2023) – Fleece is an ambiguous thing. If a garment features fleece, the immediate perception is comfort and warmth. But oftentimes, nothing could be farther from the truth. Fleece can be flat and devoid of any loft. It can also be of such a deplorable grade that the material balls with minimal use and turns into a pancake after washing and drying. Then there’s true Berber fleece, the material used in Blocker Outdoors’ new Shield Solstice Jacket and Pant. Berber fleece is constructed when yarn is knitted into fabric and wire brushed to pull the material together and fluff it up. The result is a material that has a looped, soft pile, with large air pockets that is comfortable and yields insulation. It instantly feels warm on contact and continues to retain that warmth. |
That’s the material you’ll find lining the new Shield Solstice Jacket and Pant. Developed as midseason field-wear for whitetail and western hunters, Shield Solstice is exceptionally comfortable and free of bulk. Moreover, the jacket and pants are remarkably quiet, keeping the sound down and game closer. Externally, hunters will appreciate the smooth and soft poly shell, which functions in unison with the internal Berber fleece. And, that exterior fabric features the popular Mossy Oak Terra Outland camouflage pattern, which is an exclusive to the Blocker Outdoors and ScentLok brands. |

Physical features go off the rails, too, beginning with a Lycra-bound hood and cuffs for comfort and fit. The ergonomic hood also sports a 4-inch collar with full zipper for added protection from the wind and weather. Pocket-wise, there’s a pair of zippered pockets for warming your hands or storing small items. Additionally, a zippered chest pocket is ideal for a smartphone. The Shield Solstice Pant are designed to move with you. Articulated knees and an inner thigh gusset promote mobility. Silicone grip on the rear waist keeps your torso coverings in place. And an array of five pockets stand ready to accommodate essential gear. Pockets include two waist, two cargo, and one on the back hip. |

The Shield Solstice Jacket and Pant thwart odors with Blocker Outdoors’ exclusive S3® anti-microbial finish, where silver ions bind to and penetrate the surface of odor-causing bacteria on contact. Silver ions disrupt the microbe’s DNA, preventing the formation of odor to keep your garments fresher, longer. The outer fabric is also treated with a water repellent hydrophobic coating (DWR), which forces water to bead up and roll off the surface to defend against saturation. All-in-all, the new Shield Solstice Jacket and Pant establish a new, higher rung for midseason hunting apparel. |
