Gun Control Dangerously Close To Being Passed With GOP Cooperation

Gun Control has just passed the House with the cooperation of Republicans in Congress, in gun control bill H.R. 7910.

While many news outlets are attempting to lull gun owners to sleep and assuage their fears by saying that Assault Weapons Bans are off the table, the danger to our rights is very real.

The House just passed the “Protect Our Kids Act,” which would raise the minimum age to buy semi-automatic long guns from 18 to 21.

The bill also includes non-sensical magazine bans, creates funding for mandatory buybacks of magazines and red-flag laws, increases the regulation on ghost guns and bump stocks (which are meant to make gun parts less accessible and undermine the historical right to manufacture arms for personal use), and more.

Another dangerous gun control proposal by Republicans including Rep. John Cornyn includes expanding NICS background checks to include a person’s juvenile record. So, if you did something dumb as a kid, you might lose your gun rights under this proposed expansion as an adult.

Other proposals being discussed on Capitol Hill include:

• A 1,000-percent tax on firearms — Taxing everything from handguns to hunting rifles, making them unaffordable to all but the ultra-wealthy elites.
• H.R. 2377 Federal Red-Flag Law, infringing of our rights, crushing due process.
• Gun Registries disguised as “Universal Background Checks.”
• And more …

An all-out assault on our fundamental right to bear arms is being waged in D.C.

We cannot afford to sit back and let this happen.

Many pundits and talking heads suggest that these gun control bills will die in the Senate, but we at WGO aren’t so sure.

Republicans have betrayed us before.

We need only look at the Omnibus bill that contained the expansions to the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA). The self-appointed champions of our rights folded to this scheme with little resistance.

We must remind our Representatives in D.C. that we did not send them to Washington to buckle under pressure and sell out our God-given rights.

The Democrats can bill these proposals as “common-sense gun control” all they would like, but we know that not even one of these legislative proposals would have done anything to stop the Uvalde shooter.

We know that gun control and Gun-Free Zones (so-called) do in fact harm and kill our children, as 90 percent of mass shootings take place in these Criminal Safe Zones.

They also falsely claim that this does not happen in other countries with stricter gun laws, which is also a lie. America is not even in the top 10 countries with the worst gun violence.

The CDC has proved that guns are used to save lives at an exponentially higher rate than they are used to take them, and the list of mainstream lies goes on and on and on … All to justify taking your rights away.

Instead of fortifying our schools, as WGO has advocated for in the press and on social media, Congress has sought to make more defenseless victims.

So, let me reiterate: The Biden administration has openly declared all-out war on our right to bear arms, and they are not holding back.

We need to make sure our senators stand firm for our rights in Washington and our state legislators stand firm in protecting our rights here in Wisconsin.

P.S. – It is more important than ever that our Senators in Washington hear from us. Without your voice, the GOP may cave to the gun control agenda. The gun control lobby will not be satisfied until every American is disarmed. We need to send a message here and now… HANDS OFF THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!!
