|
Madison, Wisc. – April 12, 2021 –Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have appointed Cody Kamrowski, a dedicated outdoorsman and advocate for natural resources, to serve as the organization’s Wisconsin Regional Representative. In this role, Kamrowski will provide support for volunteers and partners throughout The Badger State – currently home to 29 Pheasants Forever chapters, one Quail Forever chapter, and more than 7,500 members – as they focus on public and private lands habitat conservation efforts for pheasants, quail and other wildlife.
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent – the only national conservation organization that operates through this truly grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Kamrowski will help guide local chapters to achieve the organization’s mission, while also fostering stronger partnerships with state agencies, corporate supporters, donors, and Wisconsin’s large contingent of upland hunters.
“Wisconsin represents the fifth largest membership region in the lower forty-eight states for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever with plenty of untapped opportunities for habitat conservation successes and membership growth,” stated Tom Fuller, Field Service Director for Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever. “Having supported significant conservation efforts throughout the state of Wisconsin coupled with an eagerness to help grow our accomplishments for upland wildlife, I’m pleased to welcome Cody to our team and look forward to his leadership.”
Kamrowski joins The Habitat Organization as a former emergency government specialist, assisting local communities and grant recipients with recovery, resilience and mitigation planning and recovery efforts from extreme weather events. Previously (2017-2019), he served as a community development planner for the Northwest Regional Planning Commission in Spooner, Wisconsin, developing comprehensive hazard mitigation, community health, recreation, transportation, and natural resources plans for the district. Kamrowski was a 2016 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Social and Policy Science.
“It’s an honor to join Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, two respected organizations doing incredible things for wildlife and public lands in Wisconsin,” stated Cody Kamrowski. “I look forward to tackling the challenges and demands of this position alongside our dedicated volunteers and staff.”
Kamrowski’s professional growth has been supported by his fondness for volunteerism, particularly in the outdoor sector. Beginning in 2014, he was selected as an associate director for the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, a statewide conservation organization which represents over two hundred conservation clubs throughout the state. In 2018, Kamrowski was elected as the youngest board member ever to the National Wildlife Federation, a conservation organization which has been uniting Americans from all walks of life to give a voice to wildlife since 1936. Since 2017, he has also served as a Wisconsin DNR-certified hunter education instructor, teaching several classes throughout the year to a diverse audience with a mission of creating future hunters that are safe and conservation-minded.
In addition to his volunteerism, Kamrowski spends his free time in the fields, woods, and waters of Wisconsin. For more information about Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever in Wisconsin, contact Cody Kamrowski at (715) 896-5445 / CKamrowski@PheasantsForever.Org.
