47th SHOT Show Opens its Doors at Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum

The world’s largest trade show of its kind showcases products and equipment for target shooting, hunting, the outdoors and law enforcement

LAS VEGAS — The 47th SHOT Show® kicked off a four-day run today at The Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum, where from January 21-24 it will provide a greatly anticipated look at exciting new products in the world of target shooting, hunting, the outdoors, personal protection and law enforcement.

The 2025 SHOT Show marks the fourth year of its expansion into Caesars Forum, adding to the exhibit space of its longtime home venue, The Venetian Expo. This year the show floor will feature more than 2,800 exhibiting companies occupying more than 830,000 net square feet of booth space.

Owned and sponsored by NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, the SHOT Show is the largest trade show of its kind in the world. Show organizers point out that as a trade show the SHOT Show should not be confused with a traditional gun show, and that no firearms are transferred at the show.

Total attendance at last year’s SHOT Show exceeded 55,000 firearm industry professionals, including representatives from manufacturers, wholesalers, firearm retailers, law enforcement and the military. The SHOT Show is the eighth largest trade show in the U.S., measured by net square feet of exhibitor space, according to Trade Show Executive magazine, and SHOT Show is the fifth largest trade show in Las Vegas.

The SHOT Show brings a charge to the economies of Las Vegas and Nevada, generating more than $88 million in non-gaming revenue. More broadly, the firearm and ammunition industry significantly benefits the American economy, delivering an economic impact of more than $90.1 billion and supporting more than 384,400 jobs.

Many states place a high value on what industry businesses bring to their economies. Those benefits will be topics at the fourth NSSF-sponsored Governors’ Forum, where these leaders will discuss the importance of the firearm industry to their states. Additionally, the second NSSF-sponsored state Attorneys General Forum will look at the legal landscape related to challenges in states to the Second Amendment.

Education sessions for firearm retailers and shooting range operators are an important segment of the SHOT Show. SHOT University™ offers classes on compliance, business management and much more. In the past, presenters have included representatives from ATF, FBI and the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. Through its FixNICS® program, NSSF has helped to significantly improve the FBI’s NICS database by adding the names of persons legally prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm.

On the day before the SHOT Show opens, Industry Day at the Range will have more than 200 exhibitors providing hands-on experience with firearms, ammunition, optics, vehicles and other products to more than 2,400 invited outdoor media members and buyers. NSSF is the title sponsor of the event. More than 2,400 members of the press cover the SHOT Show.

“SHOT Week” captures the full scope of SHOT Show-related events. These include the NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic in support of Honored American Veterans Afield, a firearm industry-run charitable organization that helps the healing of disabled combat veterans through participation in hunting and shooting sports.

The two-day Supplier Showcase is a show-within-a-show, with more than 600 OEM third-party suppliers meeting with exhibiting manufacturers and exploring their needs for extrusions, fabrication, fabrics, machinery, metal, plastics, software, logistical support and tools.

The Archery Business Pavilion, which debuted last year, is back to highlight both traditional and new technologies for archery products.

At a special ceremony, NSSF will announce three new inductees to its Hall of Fame honoring industry leaders for their contributions to industry and the growth of target shooting and hunting in America. The NSSF Ken Sedlecky Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented as well.

The firearm industry is committed to promoting the safe use and secure storage of its products to prevent accidents, thefts, suicide and misuse. The industry’s newest initiative—Gun Storage Check Week™—will be very visible. Show and airport advertising will encourage companies, organizations and individuals to promote the message of “Make Sure It’s Secure™” during Gun Storage Check Week’s observances June 1-7 and September 1-7.

NSSF’s Project ChildSafe® and “Have a Brave Conversation” suicide prevention programs will have booths, as will NSSF’s partners in safety—the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The SHOT University educational section will have a panel discussion on “New Efforts in Industry’s Fight to Prevent Suicide.”

NSSF works to keep guns out of the hands of prohibited persons at the retail level through its Operation Secure Store®, Don’t Lie for the Other Guy™ and FixNICS® initiatives. These efforts along with the Project ChildSafe and Brave Conversation programs are collectively known as Real Solutions for Safer Communities®. They are all helping to save lives.

The SHOT Show attracts buyers from all 50 states and 119 countries. Some 13.9 miles of aisles lead to displays of firearms, ammunition, gun safes, locks and cases, optics, shooting range equipment, targets, training and safety equipment, hunting accessories, law enforcement gear, hearing and eye protection, tree stands, scents and lures, cutlery, GPS systems and other electronics, holsters, apparel, leather goods, game calls and decoys.
