Subject: Reward Fund Increases to $2,000
At the February Director’s Meeting of Manitowoc County Fish & Game Protective Association, another $1,000 was pledged for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who shot the Bald Eagle in Manitowoc County on or about December 7, 2018. This brings the total to $2,000 with the pledge by Don Kiel in Memory of his late father in law, Andy Endries. Additional pledges are likely to come in as the 25 units that make up Fish & Game have their local meetings.
“Our clubs and organizations take this incident very seriously”, said Dean Halverson, Secretary of the Manitowoc Unit. “We want to make a statement that groups like ours have worked for over 100 years to protect this area and we will not accept this type of behavior here.” Area organization generally meet monthly and are open to the public.
The individual units of Fish & Game work together to address conservation, hunting and fishing issues in the area. Founded in 1907, Manitowoc County Fish & Game is recognized as a leader in conservation in Wisconsin and served as a model nationally. The organization works to protect the rights of sporting men and women and promotes conservation and related education. They have partnered on most of the public accesses on area inland lakes and has 450 acres of property across the county for public use.
