Smash the Dash Supports Woodland Dunes and Helps Reduce Cabin Fever

 

 

Two Rivers – Woodland Dunes Nature Center is encouraging people everywhere to get outside, take a walk, a run, or even a bike ride, but to get some exercise and fresh air this spring.

 

“Each spring we hold a Dash at the Dunes event to get people outside and moving.” stated Nancy Nabak, Event Director.  “It’s time to let go of the caged-up blues. We’re even offering a fun Spring Fever Scavenger Hunt this year. People of all abilities can participate in this scavenger hunt, and it’s a great family friendly event.”

 

Woodland Dunes is hosting its Smash the Dash event from April 15-23^rd to raise funds for programs that thousands of children participate in each year. The goal of the event is to raise $10,000.

 

For those who like a competitive walk, run, or bike challenge, your course can be anywhere – a track, your neighborhood, or a trail system. Just record your time and submit your result when done. Anyone who participates in the Smash event will get a Smash the Dash T-shirt. Watch the Smash website for pickup details.

 

Other new features:

Competitive Time Smasher: Compete against your time from last year and send your results. The participant with the most time shaved will win a Woodland Dunes water bottle and free registration for next year’s event.

 

Alumni T-shirt Smasher: Wear a previous Dash T-shirt while out doing event, take a selfie, and send it to be put in the Alumni Drawing. Win a Woodland Dunes ball cap and hiking medallion.

 

Long Distance/Home Town Proud Smasher: Smashers from afar, make a sign with your hometown on it, take a selfie of it in front of you, send it to Woodland Dunes and be put in the Long- Distance Drawing. Win a Woodland Dunes T-shirt and a cool Two Rivers WI ball cap.

 

 

Spring Fever Scavenger Hunt: Register and be put into a drawing to win a Woodland Dunes T-shirt and water bottle. Five winners will be drawn. Send 3 photos of items from the list below to be entered.

9. stone size of a quarter

Registration is $25 for adults and $10 per child 12 years old and under.
