Protecting Constitutional Rights by Speaker Robin J. Vos

Protecting Constitutional Rights

In an executive order this week, Governor Evers called the Wisconsin State Legislature into a special session on gun control on November 7. The following is the statement that I released to the media in response to his executive order.

“A special session call will not change where my Assembly Republican colleagues and I stand on protecting the 2nd Amendment rights of Wisconsin citizens. As I have repeatedly said, we will not entertain proposals that infringe on our constitutional rights. Today’s call is another indication that Governor Evers stands ready to confiscate guns in our state.

“Governor Evers would rather score political points than effectively govern Wisconsin, where a vast majority want their 2nd Amendment rights protected. Assembly Republicans are committed to bringing people together by working on legislation that addresses important issues affecting the state including water quality, suicide prevention, homelessness and adoption.”

It was a busy week getting out our conservative message. I wanted to share with you several of the interviews I did with the members of the media. Click on the picture above to be connected to the 20-minute Facebook Live interview with Charles Benson on WTMJ4.  I also joined Dan O’Donnell on 620 WISN Radio for an interview on the special session call.

I began my week with an interview on Wisconsin Public Radio where I discussed the legislative priorities for the fall session, which includes initiatives from the speaker’s task forces on adoption and suicide prevention.
