Joe Biden has a long history of promoting gun control. In 1994, he was instrumental in the passing of the “assault weapons” ban. In 2013, Biden spearheaded White House efforts to pass universal background checks and bans on standard-capacity magazines.

And now, Biden has introduced a radical gun control plan, calling for:
• Universal background checks
• “Assault weapons” ban and buyback
• Standard-capacity magazine ban
• One-gun-a-month purchase limit
• Public push for the development of “smart guns”
• Incentives for states to adopt “red flag” laws
• Repeal PLCAA, allowing firearms manufacturers and retailers to be sued for the actions of criminals

So it makes sense that gun control groups like March for Our Lives, Moms Demand Action and Giffords took center stage during the Democrat National Convention last night, heaping praise on Biden. And tonight, he is expected to return the favor by highlighting his support for gun control in his primetime acceptance speech.

We are at a turning point. The future of the firearms industry will be decided by this election.
